I have a 29g that is planted and has fake plants. Together they are fairly dense. I am going to move into all real plants soon, but dont have a lot of light, so mostly crypts and anubias. My question is though, Does the dense population of plants give my fish a considerable amount less room? My fish are as follows, and are all young.

1 Dwarf Gourami
1 Marble Angel
2 Dwarf Neon Rainbows (m/f)
6 Harlequin Raspboras
1 Clown Pleco
3 Cory Cats

Should I remove some plants, or do they like them? I am pretty regular about chaning the water, about once a week, maybe more at 25%. Also, any ides on different, tall plants that require small light? I have 20w... Thanks everyone.

More plants = more privacy

I think fish like more plants because they are able to get away from the others.

The rainbowfish will appreciate some open swimming room in the front of the tank. Plants make the fish feel more secure and in a more natural environment.

What are the dimensions of your tank? I have a 35 gallon that is 36"x12"x18". It also has a 20 watt powerglo light on it, here are the plants I have in there now:

vallisneria (tall grassy plant, very natural)
ludwigia repens
egeria densa (anacharis)
rotala indica (rotala rotundifolia)
anubias minima
dwarf sag (sagittaria subdulata)

Also bolbitis, java moss, and java fern should work for your light.

All the plants that I listed have been in the tank for a while. They are all doing well but growth is slow.
