I have set up on my tank a Sea Clone 150 protein skimmer that has worked great for about 2 months. However, I recently started having trouble with tiny bubbles being put in my tank from the skimmer. I also noticed that the tornado effect in the chamber is not as well defined and clear as it used to be. If anyone know how to fix this I would appreciate it. Thanks a lot

When was the last time you cleaned everything out on the skimmer? those guys really need it done fairly often.

I recently cleaned the protein skimmer a few days ago. I emptied the water out, then ran warm water through it to get all the junk at the bottom out. Still had same problem.

I also have sea clone hang on the tank skimmer and i have gone through the same thing. The only thing that seemed to help was to chuck the air flow control valve and buy a decent one ,also i took the sponge off the intake to prevent excess heat build up on the powerhead just incase it decided to clog up on me but if you have the rocks , coral , etc close to the pump i would leave the spone on so nothing gets sucked up into the head. Mine is away from the rock/reef it doesn't come close to my inhabitants. The sea clone skimmers need minute adjustments on the air valve in order to achieve best results. However even after going through the buying of a new valve and playing with it for what seemed like forever. I still get tiny bulbbles in my tank as well It also has to do with tank additives especially Aqua Plus Chlorine remover . I notice more bubbles just after water changesbut they do subside a bit after 24 hours or so in my tank anyways. I have tried everything to get rid of this problem but i guess it is a trait of sea clone skimmers. I am thinking the real only solution is to set up a sump system and have it in there i guess but until then i just put up with it . Hope this helps a bit. If you hear of any other tricks i would love to hear about them , Thanks :D
