Do any of you guys' local walmart's sell the Regent Hex 5 tank? I was wondering because both of my local walmarts are selling Hawkeye aquarium hex tanks and I really want a regent (marineland) tank at a reasonable price.

TIA!

Instead of wally world try petsmart.com. They have an eclipse hexagon 5 setup for $38.

The thing is, the walmart version is the exact same thing but costs ONLY $29!

Ah ok. Well to be honest tanks that small don't interest me that much so when I'm in walmart (about 4 times in a year) I don't look at em. Just curious, but does the walmart one have the bio-wheel then?

Yes.

They carry many marineland products under the "Regent" name.

Yeah, that has been established, but from what I understood regent filterbodies didn't come with the bio wheel, but that one could be added with a small bit of modification. That is someone has posted before that they got the 29g setup at walmart and added a bio wheel to the regent filter it came with, but had to leave the filter lid off as it hit the wheel.

I believe they do have bio-wheels. I'd be too much of a hastle for marineland to change all of their hex 5's hoods...

Hehe, too much hastle to change the hood, maybe. Too much hastle to leave the wheel out of the packaging, maybe not.

Feels odd to be posting messages back to back like this.

That is the heart of a forum, back to back message posting:D :p

Yeah, well I also have 2 other windows open atm so I may seem a bit distracted. One question. What are you planning to do with such a small tank?

Put a Betta in it.

Doh, missed the obvious. If its just the beta I don't think you have to worry about having a bio wheel.

I think it'll still be nice to have in case I want to use it for future use.

Fair enough. Why not try yard sales for a tank? If you can find something like a 10g tank prices of penguin filters aren't very high.

I have space constraints :( Before this, I was going to go with a System 3.

Gotcha. Guess I'm out of suggestions. Too bad walmart doesn't put aquariums on their websight I guess.
