I have a 200 gallon discus tank with five hill streams in there and i just found some babies:dance:
Is this pretty common for these guys? I found the fry living in my sump I am thinking of moving them to my desk top planted tank and let them grow out a bit.
Just thought it was cool and wanted to share

I found three total in my sump that I captured and moved. Now they share a tank with pipes and shrimp.

Not too unusual for them to spawn, though I don't think anyone has caught them in the act yet. Congrats on the fry, looks great.

I think they glued the eggs randomly to the glass of the tank i find little clusters of two - four eggs through out the tank on the glass

Congrats !! The trick may now be to get them to stop !! I have 10 adults or so in a 46 gal tank, and they have been breeding for at least 2 years. They are really tiny when they are first born. I check my HOB filters (AC) when I clean them to see if there may be more in the tank. Here's 1 of mine

Congrats! So cute, my fav of hillstreams. I'm surprised they spawned & hatched at discus temps. Sewellia seem to have a wide range of acceptable tank conditions.

Awesome pics! No new fish fish in the next year or so, coast to coast move soon. But you're the only person of late I've read keeping pipes outside of a Caribbean guy I "know" from fish boards. How & what do you feed them? Where are you Randy? Amazing animals! Tell all!

I think I might write up a quick post about the tank and put it in the right area until then
