I'm considering going over to Plantex, but I can't seem to find a formula on the Net that says:
?tablespoons mix into ?00mL of water, dose ?mL of this solution ?times a week per ? gallons of water.
I figure you'd know... ;)
First of all, make sure that the provider mixes in some Boron with it. It will say something like Plantex + B.
I mix 2tbsps. with 500mls. of water. Mix it up real well and get all the crystals to dissolve. Store it in the refrigerator.
When I first started using it, I dosed .5ml per 10 gals. of water daily(or 1ml per 10gals. every other day). My mind is shot, but the dosage is the same so it's not critical.
I've gradually increased the dosage after watching the plant's responses.

What happens if the solution isn't stored in the 'fridge?
It's not absolutely necessary, but is advisable.
Over time certain nutrients tend to break down quicker if not refrigerated.

Gracias. I ask all this because I wanted to do a price breakdown.
Flourish Traces=$0.20 a day
Plantex+B=$0.008 a day

Flourish makes some great products, but I think you will find that powdered and/or generic mixtures will save you a bunch of money. Especially when you get into tanks above 15 - 20 gallons. The only Flourish product I'm currently using is Fe because up till now I have not found a cheaper replacement.

When you do find Fe for cheap, let us know. I'd be very interested, considering how much F-Iron my tanks drink down each day.:D
::edit what about Iron Sulphate (FeSO4)? Used on lawns? Or perhaps the Iron Chelate used for hydroponics (http://www.litemanu.com/cgi-bin/htmlos.cgi/00164.1.44334817858)? Yes, I don't have the chemistry background to figure out this stuff for myself... :)
