hello,
can anyone give me info on anubias plants?
like how much light do they need? how to propoagate them... how to make them grow faster.
btw can anyopne identify my anubias?
i've had it for months now. but it still hasn't clinged on to the wood. and it doesn't seem to be growing much... but did sprout new leaves..
my aquarium lights are on onlyf or about 2 hours per day.
and i use ordinary tfc light... should iget those 10000k lights?
what variety is my anubias?
thanks.http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/attachment.php?postid=192306

If your lights are only on for 2 hours a day no wonder the anubias isn't growing. It will need a longer light period, I would say at least 6 hours.
It looks(not the greatest picture) like a Barteri and will attach itself to the wood eventually. That fish may be tugging at it.
They will grow at 1.5 watts/gal. and up. Kelvins is not crucial.
Why only 2 hours a day? Try to up that to 8 - 10 hours and you'll probably see some growth.

i only turn on the lights to admire my fishes.
guess they also need long lighting hours to thrive...
i'm planning to add some more anubias...
which is better looking of the 2?
Anubias Broad Leaf Barteri
Anubias Minima
??
also which would grow bigger?
alsi is it ok to have a strong current in the tank?
my datnoids may be tagging at my anubias :shake:

I have minima and the leaves are about 5-6 inches (roughly 10-15 cm) long. If you are looking for size I think the barteri would probably be a better choice but both are nice in my opinion.

Hi,
I'm planning to get a coffeefolia as addition to my tank..
do i need c02 injectors?
or will they do fine iwth just enough lighting?
the only plant in my tank right no wis a pc of anubias barteri.
in a 5 foot tank with an arowana and some datnoids..
do i still need to add fertilizers?

For just anubias I think you will be fine with no fertilizers and no CO2. Your fish should provide enough nutrients for the plants.
It might not hurt to add a tiny bit of liquid fertilizer but I don't think you have to. Anubias grow slowly and don't need a lot of light, but having the lights on for a good length of time would probably be needed.

finally got 2 more anubias..
a broadleaf barteri and a coffeefolia...
will co2 benefit them??
i'll be putting them in my angelfish tank..
about flourescent lighting...
which would be better. daylight tube? or warm white flourescent??
CO2 will benefit any plant.
See if you can find the Kelvin rating on the tubes in question.
If not, opt for the 'daylight' tube. It's probably closer to 6700K.
