I purchased a puffer today that was labelled an Avacado Puffer at my local lfs. The poor fish was housed with Oscars and he looked a little uncomfortable..he's happyily eating and swimming around now..he's a goldish/green color..what is he?...is he "Tetraodon cutcutia"? Is it true then that they are FW?

Thank you very much!

It is so unfortunate that people sell fish and basically have no clue as to what they are actually selling! or buying.. *rolls eyes and whistles*

Do either of you have links to pics of "Avacado" puffers by any chance? I have searched around with no results!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as well!

As it stands now..the fish will be kept alone, fed brine shrimp, krill, bloodworms and snails...temp is 78-80..

:)

Thanks for the link!

I am confused now..my puffer has no spots or any markings..the body is a green/bronze color...he is quite slender too.
Any ideas?

heh odd looking puffer. Avacado puffer eh? Has anyone had alot of experence with thoes.. It seems over the years, new exotic species of puffer is entering the market. 4 years ago, we never had Dwarf Puffers. Only species available were the figure 8's and Green spotted puffer..
