Whats the deal with shrimp?

I hear that amano shrimp love to eat hair algae. Is this also true for ghost shrimp? I have checked 4 pet stores for amanos but nobody seems to have them. also, do you need to feed them something or will they just live off of algae and waste in the tank? :confused:

amanos do eat hair algae, but generally most ghost shrimp won't.
while they will live off waste and algae in the tank, i do reccomend feeding them with algae wafers and crab pellets for long term health.
