south of nowhere, north of nothing
bitey has taken another step towards world domination. first, it was eating all my danios, seizing ultimate control of his habitat...now this.

so i go into the kitchen...all the way on the other side of my apartment from my fish room...and lo and behold, bitey the crayfish greets me from the floor, claws raised.

now, bitey has been kept in an open-top rubbermaid dealy for a couple months, and before that was in open-top 10g and 20g tanks for over a year. he had never crawled out of those. his tank is filtered by a simple sponge filter, so the air lines were always there for him to crawl out, but he never did...hmm....well, anyway, i went to sleep at 3:30, and he was in his home, on the prowl, and i found him around noon. so it took him about 8 hours to crawl out and scuttle all the way to my kitchen.

luckily, he was uninjured by the stunt, as his home is practically on the ground (the low tier of one of those double stands). good for him, i say. he has taken the next step in his imperialist quest, and i will salute my crayfish master when the time comes, and he ascends to power. you will rue the day you stand in HIS way.

A sequel to the unacclaimed "Most Excellent and Lamentable Tragedy of Bitey and Pinchy?"

That crayfish is going places in this world. Literally.

You're lucky you didnt wake up with beady little crayfish eyes staring at you.

It has become obvious that Bitey has a Romeo-complex and is overly distraught at Pinchy's death and so he is finding a way to end things...

Seriously though lol, you might want to get a cover?:p

Better watch out or you might end up missing a few parts in the middle of the night. :D

Bitey the stalker crayfish.....doodoodoodoo

luckily, the door to my bedroom was CLOSED, and he couldn't fit underneat it. i'm pleased he went to the kitchen though...had he gone under the couch or the entertainment center or something, i would have never found him...and i wouldn't have looked for awhile, too, because during the day he mostly hides beneath this fake root system thing in his tank.

I had kept one of those electric blue guys several years ago, often finding it creeping about on the carpet near the aquarium upstairs. More than once I had nearly trampled upon it at the base of the carpeted stairs, able to go no farther due to the door at the bottom being closed. I've always wondered what would have occured had the door been open, and had it progressed far enough to meet my 15lb Lasa Ahpso...

Cheers,
