Hi,

Can anyone share their experience in breeding the above? I currently have 3 adults of about 6 inches. 1 male and 2 female (I think). I have tried mixing them together with dire consequences, they are certainly THE most aggressive cichlid that I have kept.

I have read that they need a really large tank to breed. If space is a constraint, will the "broken" divider method works? I understand that some hobbyist from America and Europe have been successful in breeding them.

Any comments or links will be much appreciated.

There were some Paretroplus breeding articles at www.gcas.org I don't know if they are still listed, but I visited the author's fish room in Middletown Ohio, in the mid ninties, and he had several tanks of fry and several of breeders. I think he had bred a few different species within the genus.

I just checked and these older articles have been retired, but there are still some newer ones by the same author, bill Childers.
