I think I'm ahead of the game but I still wanted to ask any opinions on the matter. I've been battling the worst case of Ich I've had in my 55 gallon community tank and seemed to be losing the battle until the last week or so. It started out on my rummynose tetras and I started treating with Ick Guard II which has always done great in the past, getting rid of the ich within a week. After a week I really didn't see any progress and ended up using up all my ick guard II and couldn't find anymore so I bought some Jungle fizzing Ick pellets and started using that at 1/2 dose as stated for weak fish (tetras). After about a week and a half, 2 of my 3 cardinal tetras were covered in ich as well as some ich starting to show up on a platy and a honey gourami. I continued with the dosage for a few days and saw no change so one night I did a 25% waterchange and added about a 3/4 dose of the fizzing tablets and lost both my rummynose, 6 neons that didn't even have ich and my 3 cardinals as well. I did a 40% waterchange, did not treat the next day and continued with Ick Guard II (order finally came in) and have so for the last 4 days. The platy still has a few ick spots but no new breakouts so far although I did have a glowlight tetra end up dead but it is possible he had been there from the last breakout as I was not able to do a thorough count before I left over the weekend (had a babysitter medicating over the last 4 days). I had added salt and bumped the temp up to 80. Has anyone found any other tricks, especially with tetras? I don't seem to be a good doctor with my fish, I either kill them with medication or they just die from their sickness. Kyle
