right now i have 2 tanks set up, one with guppies, guppy fry and 2 cories (10 gallon). my other tank is a 29 gallon with 2 goldfish (i am currently giving them away), 2 mollies, one CAE, one pleco, and one crayfish. i wanted a fish that would eat some guppies so i didnt end up with an overpopulation of them. i dont want to get rid of any fish besides the goldies. if i am really in a bind i will to accomodate 1 or 2 cichlids in the 29 gallon. i can also set up a 20 gallon long for 1 or 2 cichlids too. i am looking for either one or two cichlids for either of these tanks. the only thing is that they cannot out grow them.
(if i got 2 of the same sex would one dominate the others food supply and make his life hell?)
leave any ideas about certain types of cichlids

(i am considering 1 or 2 convicts)

would a pictus catfish work with the cichlids in the same tank?

One convict would be better. You could do a m/f pair but you'll have more fry to get rid of. What about salvini? I have a nice pair of cons and feed the fry to my haps. Also some catfish will love the little treats. I have a bumblebee cat. If I were you I'd get a pair of cons for the 20L and 1m 3f of a smaller peacock. You can always sell their fry and they should eat the con fry.
