View Full Version : Multiple deaths, what should I do?

First it was my panda cory. It was fine one day and the I noticed it did not eat and less than 24 hours later it was dead. The same exact thing has happened to another cory, a cardinal tetra, and now my number one fish, the male blue ram. He is still alive but I fear the worse. I checked the water parameters and everything is ok ammonia, nitrite, nitrates. They just stop eating, sit in the corner and then die. I already did a large water change, what should I do, what can I do!

try some melafix to help?
i lost a couple of panda cory's a few weeks ago, then a couple of neons(they were new) from almost the same thing.all my other fish were fine, but i did the whole tank just in case.

How new is the tank? How new were the fish to the tank? I've had this happen to me however I've only lost one. The one I lost was a new addition into the tank, I'm assuming it just didn't adjust to the new environment, or it was just too nervouse. Other fish that I've had this happen to was when I put thim in a new tank. New surroindings, so they huddled in the corner of the tank, but eventually they got use to it and are now all over the tank.
If they are the only ones of their kind in the tank maybe get a couple more so they're more comfterble. Or it could be the other way around, if the tank is too small they feel like they have no where to go so they just sit there. Ultimately something is stressing them out.

Ok, now the ram is at the top of the tank gasping for air. It doesn't look good for him. ****, this really sucks because he was is favorite fish. The only thing I can tell other than that is he has a long stringy poop coming out of him. I'm about to go to the store and get some melafix and do another big water change.
Are you certain its poop? If its white it is possible that its some sort of tapeworm.
