My AquaClear 300 had a fall while cleaning it this morning and shattered in a billion pieces....
I'm going out this afternoon to get a new filter, hopefully the fish will be ok till then. any swuggestions though? i have a 42 gallon hex, and don't wanna spend more then 40 bucks if i can...
Best,
Evan
I can't remember which, but I believe either Petco or Petsmart will match their online prices if you point it out to them. It's too bad you don't have time to order from bigalsonline though. In store prices generally aren't nearly as good as what you can find online.

If you haven't already went out to get the filter, make sure you have some way to circulate the water, preferably using an airstone. This is a good example of why you should have a back up filter on hand, even if its rather small.
I would go with another AquaClear. I love these filters, they are awesome. Whispers are also pretty good for what you need.

If you want a decent filter for that kind of money, AC is probably the way to go, other than that I would suggest an emporer, I like both but the emporer costs much more usually.
