I am thinking of getting a plant or two and get rid of some of the fake plants. I have no clue what to get, or when i should get them. what size or what kind? Will the fish eat and kill the plants?
what kind of lighting?
Any help will be great.
Thanks

Hey,
You may want to look at getting some java ferns, I dont think silver dollars will eat them, maybe anubias, but Im not sure.... silver dollars, being vegetarians, will eat up most plants.....

Plecos can be plant nippers too! Anubias are great but their new leaves are very tender. At least in my case, they where delectible to someone (I suspect mollies but not positive).

I went out and bought some today. Have no clue what they are called. I told the guy at the LFS what fish I had. He said the silver dollars, pleco & dwarf guarimi, will nibble on it,but the plants should be fine.
I was wondering about salt in the tank. Will the plants die if i add the freshwater salt to the tank.
Here is a pic of the plants, you can see them both in the pic.
do i need to add anything to my tank now, like co2
Looks like moneywort to me.
I recently treated my planted tank for ich. I had 1 tbsp of salt per 10g in the tank, and the plants were fine including my moneywort.
Planted, freshwater tanks have no need for salt IMO.
Many plants do not respond well to salt in the aquarium water.
CO2 is always a help in growing plants. And is a necessity in highly lit tanks. What is the wattage of your lighting?
