Searched for this, but couldn't find a solution...

I want to upgrade my sump, but can't figure out what size will fit through the doors of my stand (I can only go through the front).

Thoughts?

Measurements? It looks like you're going to be limited to about a 20, but I could be wrong. You could probably get 2-3 20 gallon tanks in there, and plumb them together. Or, start looking at rubber tubs--wider variety of shapes available.

Thanks Orion girl. Yeah - it's pretty tight. Big drawback about this stand. Maybe I'll email the tenecor guys and see what they have to say...maybe they've calculated it already.

I guess I could attach a couple of tanks together. The rubbermaid idea is a good one I just worry about spillage, evaporation, etc.

Will post some pics of my efforts!

Just a suggestion,

I had the same problem with my tank. I used a 20 gal for a refugium and a 10 gal for a sump. I used 1.5 in. pvc as a syphon tube to connect the two tanks. Everything has worked pretty well so far. I haven't had any leaks and evaporation hasn't been a big problem at all. Oh, btw, I have a 125 gal tank (just as a reference). Hope this helps.

connection?

Hi dawn - thx for the suggestion. can you tell me - when you say syphon tube - to me that sounds like you didn't drill the sumps to connect them, but rather that they just connect over the top...is that correct?
