This seems like a stupid question, but exactly what's the purpose light serves for corals (hard and soft)? And for Anemones? Is it photosynthesis? I thought it was, but then it doesn't make sense, so I need someone to unpuzzle this question for me? Thanks

they have symbiotic algae in them. The algae provides food for the coral or anemone.
