About three weeks ago I took out of service the last of my cannisters on my 125g and my 90g after letting my sponge filters colonize the bacteria needed. Everything is great in my tanks. Cannot beleive something so simple works so great. Easy to clean and maintain. No more tearing down filters to clean them, no more worry about comming home to a floor full of water because one leaked or mal-functioned. And yes there are those of you who will say what about mech. filtration, you need this in your tank. Why? I change water and vac my gravel every five days. So why should I need mech. filtration? If I cleaned my gravel once a month I could see the need. But every five days there is really no need. I took this advice about 3-4 months ago and do not regret one moment.
