I'm thinking about using skunk loaches as snail control in my 55 community tank. I have Angels, tetras, a few albino cories. What are the chances that a skunk loach would tear these guys up?

skunk loaches are one of the more aggresive species. They are nippy and might not be too nice to your angels.

I would suggest Botia striata( zebra loach) as a better loach to try for snail control. Some other smaller loaches that are quite peaceful are B.rostrata and B.robusta. I have both B.robusta and B.striata in my community tanks one of which also has angels with no problems.

There was a recent thread (http://64.191.28.50/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2293) on this in the Cats and Bottom Dweller Forum.

I was looking for a small loach for my tank and considered the skunks (botia morleti (http://loaches.com/hloach.shtml)). After I read some of the posts at loaches.com I decided to go with the zebra loach (botia striata (http://loaches.com/botia_striata.shtml)) instead. I'd browse around over there if your just looking for a small snail-killer.
