butterfly died

Well, my butterfly fish from the post below died. :shake: I'm still not sure why. I took a good look at it when I removed it from the tank and it was missing a good portion of it's scales. Also, as I stated earlier it's mouth and surrounding area (about up to the gills) were all red ... like bloody/hemeragic. There was also lines of the bloody-looking stuff throughout the fishes body, like around the bases where the scales would meet the body. The tail and fins were pretty much shredded and not of very much use to the fish.

If anyone has any idea what could have been wrong please advise. I think one of the clowns may be next but we'll see. So far I have only seen the one tiny spot on the fish and every other part of him looks fine.

edit I was asking about your water quality but read the older post. I can't offer much more thna sympathy! Steve
