Most anemones will not eat fish by choice but rather whatever is stupid enough to float through their tentacles (other than Clownfish-they leave them alone and let them host). I feed all of my anemones fresh and frozen shrimp, scallops, imitation crab meat among some others. The most common white one (I think you are talking about) is the Condylactis also known as Condy's, Pink tips, among a few other names. The other common white one is the Sebae Anemone (has bright purple tips at the end of the tentacles). If a newbie, I suggest not trying one. Condy's are easy but they will not host anything. In general you need at least 3-4watts of light per gallon plus perfect water plus good foods plus good oxygen levels= happy anemone. Anyway, hope this helps and good luck.
