my clown kife has a red spot on either side if his body that i have never noticed before.does anyone know what it is ?

Can you get a pic? It could be a bruise, or an injury...They'll look a bit different, but the inportant thing is to make sure it doesn't become infected. Does it look like an open sore, or just a spot? Anything in with it that could have hurt it? Or a decoration it might have scraped against?
I cant send a pic but he doesnt seem to be acting any differently.
he has some red down into his anal fin which has a gap in it. I put a new decoration in the tank but it doesnt have any red on it.

Banging against a decoration may have bruised the fish. All the tank parameters are good? If it doesn't get worse, I really can't advise any treatment other than keeping good water and feeding with high nutrition items.

I dont know what happened but the red spot is going away and he seems to be a happy fish. He isnt red into his fin anymore its just a tiny dot now. I dont know alot about fish we wnt to the pet store and bought indescriminately but am learning that wasnt such a good idea.
Now we have 3 tanks one 55 gallon one 10 gallon and one 20 gallon.
