IS RED BRICK OK IN A FRESHWATER TANK?
I KEEP SOME IN MY MINI CRAB TANK AND ALL IS WELL

Fired *real* clay brick should be as safe as clay pots which have been used for years.
Where you may have a concern is with the newer imitation "red brick". These can be made of coloured concrete or calcite. I believe these would only effect your pH. Similar to a new concrete pond, soaking for a couple of days generally solves this problem.

well that was a big mistake!!!! i srubbed it w/ hot water and i baked it .....but 12 hours went by and the fish were all just hiding out and 12 hours later 4 died and counting....this sucks!!! i did i huge water change... now its a waiting game.

What are your water parameters?
Also, a good way to tell if something is good to put in a tank is to pour a little white viniger on it. If it fizzes, then no good.

i did the white viniger thing...no fizz.....
my GH is kinda high....it is about 300
but everything else is good
i keep tiger, green tigers, rosey,ruby barbs(total of 10 well less now)
one blue ram ( i think he's next and no one carries them around here anymore)
