Looking for a decent skimmer

I am interested in getting a decent protein skimmer but being new I dont know that much about them. I would like an out of sump skimmer and was wondering if anyone could give me any suggestions. I would like something that works well but dont want to totally break the bank.

skimmers.....what are you going to stock in your tank?

ez fishs then i dont think you really need a skimmer, other wise how much do you want to spend..

I am slowly building a reef tank ( as my experience allows) and as far as how much to spend the farther under 200.00 the better.

I'm kind of in the same situation, I'm looking at the CPR Bak Pak...its a hang Over the Tank unit... seems pretty highly rated, Right now its onsale for $119 at petsolutions.com

Here is another Highly rated one for $160 its a Ramora...its also a hang over the tank model

I like the bakpak for my 20, but it's small for a 55. The remora or remora pro would be better choices for HOB units, I think.
