Alright, after a long long fishless cycle.. I went out and bought some fishies!
I bought 4 dwarf gourmies, and 4 dragon headed guppies.
So far they get along great, anyone else have suggestions of advice for my newly redone tank?

Get a fry tank for the guppies.;)
Yeah, clean-up crew. How 'bout ghost shrimp and malasian trumpet snails?

So is it true the guppies can have up to like 100+ fry? I'd hate to have that in the tank ;)
Though I'm sure the other fish might eat em.
As for a clean up crew, what type of cories? How big do they grow? When I am not at work I'll research more on them.
Thanx for the feedback though.

Yeah, guppies are pretty prolific.
Cory's don't get too big, 1-2" in general, I think. Certainly a lot depends on the kind you go for. I'm a sucker for the albinos myself. But it's entirely personal.

Oh ya, if those fry are left in there, they are fish food. My mom wouldn't let us have guppies when we were kids for that reason, too much of a lesson in "the Circle of Life." I had 1 silver molly who would eat her babies as she was giving birth if I wasn't quick enough.

So hopefully I have 4 male guppies, else I'll have to bring out the 10gal tank the girlfriend doesnt want set up ;)
I guess a betta would be a bit much? The girlfriend likes em cause they're pretty.
Will the gourmis last with a betta in a 20gal tank? Can they co-exist if there are things for the gourmis to hide and dodge the betta?

If your girlfriend likes bettas, get out that 10g she doesn't want set up and make it a betta tank. :D
Then you can put your fry in there as the occasional treat for the betta. ;)
Both problems solved!
