I couldn't find any archives about this though...

I found some "alien life" in my tank last night... I had the lights off for about an hour and started watching the tank with my maglite. I shined my light into a cave right next to the sand and found these wierd mini-slugs in it... I would surmise about the size of a large orzo grain, looked like a traditional garden slug, but opaque white. I think they were a bit see through also because I could see a grain or two of sand in their bodies. Like it was working it through the system to digest whatever is on it...

Probably about 6 of these, any thoughts? I couldn't see a defined carapace of any type, and these things had very jelly like bodies it seemed. They also really didn't like light.

Could these explain why I haven't seen any copepods lately, or why my tiny hermits are disappearing?

Thanks.

Maybe a harmless stomatella snail, maybe a nudibranch, maybe a flatworm. It's going to be tough without a picture.

I'll have to look through sea life photography, it's hard enough finding these things, let alone getting a picture.

Thanks though.

If I understand your post correctly, you have hunted through the archives. Nonetheless, this is an excellent opportunity to advertise that some folks put together a good list of ID resources.

Ron Shimek has a good invert ID site as well, which isn't (yet) on the list.
