They dont need starters, are quiet, are more efficient, and dont usually cost that much more. Fulham, Icecap, and GE ballasts are all great. GE ballasts can be found at home depot (you need to know what your looking for) fulham ballasts can be found at www.happyreefing.com (go to www.fulham.com for wiring diagrams and info) and Icecap ballasts can be found at www.marinedepot.com

I did think about getting a Icecap, but with 430 costing $230 Canadian + tax it's not going to happen. Slip, What exactly would you look for at HD to find the GE Ballasts?
