Banjo Cat has small red blister

He has what looks like a small red blister on the end of his tail. Does that sound like a disease or does it sound like something he got from having his tail nipped at or scraped by a pointy piece of driftwood?

I put half a dose of maracyn in there tonight, although that probably won't help anything.
