Ventricosa (bubble algae) nightmare

I posted a couple of weeks ago about bubble algae. Someone told me what it was, and I started researching. Unfortunately, I have the ventricosa type which is hard smooth oblong bubbles that nobody will eat.

The recommended procedure is to remove each individual bubble. I tried removing with wooden kitchen tweezers, but caused it to burst. I then removed the rock with the offending algae and used a knife to scrape it off along with some of the rock, hoping to completely remove the algae.

I have been doing this every other day when I see new ones appear. Basically I'm going nuts. I find new ones every day.

Has anyone had any success with the elimination of this type of bubble algae. Everything I've read says it will take over my tank. I see no end is sight. I'm ready to remove everything and dump my rock which is really beautiful. I need help!!!!!!
