it's not hard at all but you're going to have to give more than that in order to figure out what happened. Basically, if you keep up with the maintenance on the tank provided it's big enough for the fish, i.e., water changes, there shouldn't be a problem. What's your chemistry? What other fish do you have? How long has your tank been set up? Is it cycled? How big is it?

Sometimes it just depends on the stock of the angel. Sometimes they are delicate and die very easily and sometimes(like mine) you can take them out of horrible petstore tanks and they are healthy as can be.

Sicne you tank is still fairly new it could be that but as long as the parameters stay good that shouldn't be a problem. Since he died shortly after you buying it i would probably think he was in poor health when you bought it.

I would try to find another angel that is from good stock and in good health and try again.Once you get a good fish they are fairly hardy. I"ve had my angelfish for about 3 years now and she came out of a really nasty tank form a petstore(i had a coupon for a free angel that is the only reason i got her). I also have quite high PH and she does well. So once you find a healthy fish they are quite easy to keep.

its best to rule out your water as the source of the problem

some fish (angels) could have a hard time bouncing back from an adverse change in water properties

posting this info will help folks help you

temperature
ammonia
nitrite
ph
nitrate

frequency of water changes + % of water changed
