You answered one of my questions a while ago and you said one of the tanks you had was bumble-bee gobies, F8 puffers, and a purple spot goby (?) in a 29 gallon tank. I have a 33 gallon (1.005) and would like to try what you have. I just got 3 bumble bee gobies and I think they are the cutest things. The mollies get all the food before they get any so I'm going to give them away. I was just wondering what kind of food you feed that tank. I haven't been able to find live worms anywhere so I have frozen bloodworms and brine shrimp. Would all these guys eat these things (along with snails for the puff) I was thinking of just one F8. I really want things to work out because I'm thinking I might have gotten over my head trying brackish and if I can't keep these guys healthy I will switch to freshwater. I really want everyone to be happy. Any adivce you have would be great from your personal experiences. Also, if I don't do puffers, would glassfish go with the gobies.
Thank you very much for time. You advice will help me make my decision on what to do with my tank.

I have BBG's living with two F-8's and they are getting along just fine. I feed mine frozen krill, bloodworms, mysis shrimp and snails.
Good luck!
:)

So your bumble-bee gobies eat frozen food fine. I'm trying to feed mine frozen bloodworms and brine shrimp and they seem to put it in their mouths and then just spit it out. I've had them 3 days already and I don't think they've eaten anything. It's difficult becuase I can't find live food anywhere either. Do you think they might just start eating the frozen or starve to death.
I also have mollies in there that seem to eat the food before they have a chance to get it. I'm working on giving them away. Do your gobies take time to eat the food after it's settled on the bottom or just eat it as soon as it falls.
Thanks for your help

Since puffers are notoriously messy eaters, the BBGs serve very nicely as clean-up for the smallish chunks the F8s drop and ignore. It may seem mean to use them as clean-up crew, but they do seem to flourish in that role.

You BBGs may just not be settled in yet, or perhaps just cannot compete with the mollies. They are not that brave or fast feeding IME.

They may just need to settle in..mine are quite active when feeding but I also thaw the food beforehand. Just give them time or try feeding abit extra when the lights are off.
Good luck!

The fish I have in there are: F8 puffers, BBGs & knight gobies. Generally, they get live blackworms, plankton, crickets & algae wafers.
