what could cause an oscar to have convultions? I just moved and havn't tested the water at my new house. (only 3 blocks away) so I figured it was the same. they are about 8 inches long. thanks

When you say convulsion do you mean shaking or flipping out and crashing into the gravel and walls? My oscars are always shaking at each other. Sometimes it's a warning to the other and sometimes its just to say hello. Crashing into stuff can be a sign of infection or a crowded tank. Others will want to know water parameters, but I hope this may help at least a little.

I completely skipped over the part about you moving. The shaking and mouthing is their way to tell each other who's area is whose. As long as they're not attacking each other, everything should settle in a few days.

I gave them away, I realized I wasn't going to be able to take care of them the way they should for the next like 2 months, with food and what not. They should be at a good home now. thanks for the info tho. Thats what I thought it was, but when you first see it, kinda freaks you out. or at least it did for me
