my betta, who I have had for almost 2 years, now has opaque things in the normally clear part of the outer bubble that is his eyes...

he still seems to be able to see his food and hasn't changed behavior that I can tell. so for now it is just one of those what if questions  :D

I know plecos are sensitive to light and turning it on either while there feeding or forcing them to eat under a bright tube can damage there eyes giving them cataraks and ultimatly leading to blindness.

They may be the case with your betta, but dont take my word for it.
Either way someone will no doubt know and it is always prudent to check things out

Hope everything works out OK :)

he is so tame that I could problably hand feed him if it ever becomes a problem that he can't see his food... but I dunno if it is even going to get to that.

he has been the funnyest betta, very mellow and never flares, well except for the time he jumped and hit his head so hard he scraped half a dozen scales off. that was right when I found where my sargent major loach had been hiding so he got blamed for it. he spent a week flareing at him...

other wise not even a mirror gets him going lol
