To owners of White Cloud Mountain Minnows:
Have you experianced them breeding? How often do they mate? How fast do they grow? What was your exp. with them?
The reason why I"m asking is because I'm trying to look into egg layers who reproduce very quick who also yield decent size liters. I've done a lot of research in the past week and I've found out a lot of info but I would like some personal accounts. There are also questions that I've yet to find answers to. (i.e. how often do they mate)
I'm farming guppies right now, but for some reason they're in a dry spell. All the fry I have are way too small and the adults don't seem to want to mate or release fry. As well I have a few virgin females that I'm not sure if they're sexually mature yet. I also thought it would be nice to try a different fish.
I looked into danios but I don't like the fact that I'll have to for sure keep moving them from one tank to another if I want the eggs to survive. I figured mountain minnows because they don't require a heater, and they 'usually' don't eat their fry or eggs.
Anyone else have suggustions for me as to what other kind of fish are easly bred in captivity and would fit well into 5/10 gallon tanks?
