My angelfish, shadow, has developed 4 open sore-type things on his body....one under each of the side fins. There is a roundish type sore each side of the angels body, also. Does anyone have any ideas as to what this could be? I just lost another of my angels 2 weeks ago...he had a sore inside of his mouth and he just deteriorated untill he died. Help!

have you checked if your water is ok because that could be the problem. they also could be very sensitive and some thing in your tank is bothering them. also since you dont know what the sores exactly are you should seperrate the one fish that has it so that it wont spread to the other ones. i am new at this hobby but i love angelfish so i have reasearched alot on them. just remember i could be wrong.
Do a heavy water change and treat with Melafix, and add aquarium salt (1 tbsp per 20 gallons is sufficient). I am not sure exactly what you have, but that treatment is a good all-around remedy for open wounds.

Have you had any parasite symptoms in your tank? I lost a paradisefish to parasites that ruptured out and caused open wounds. In any case, isolation and melafix are probably your best move now.

Does this sound familiar?

If possible, I might quarantine the affected fish and treat with some appropriate medicine. Antifungal/antibacterial (like Binox) if the link I showed you is what you think it is, or just antibiotic otherwise (like Maracyn I and II or Maracyn Plus).
Do check your water parameters. I suspect that they may have lead to the development of the sores and could continue if whatever is wrong is not fixed.
