Neat! I got some water hyacinth plants that had some hidden goldfish eggs in them.

I got some goldfish as an unexpected surprise.

Are you breeding yours?

were the parents in a tank or a pond?

i'm wondering if my goldfish will breed in the 55gallon.. there are 4 of them in there right now, only one is old enough to breed though.

Wow! I want a goldfish pond SO badly... They have some blue shubunkins at walmart and their squished so I want to get a pond and buy/save them all :D

hmmm-photobucket doesnt seem to be working today...
they are in a tank. i think they breed early in the morning so you have to catch them before they eat the eggs. mine ate about 450/500 of the eggs...(i went downstairs for breakfast while thye "finished" and returned to have about 50 eggs. im glad though because theres no way i could cram 500 goldfish in my pond!)
i have a comet in one of our ponds that came from walmart about 5 years ago and he is still only about 5 inches:( most of those years, he was alone in the pond too...i definately dont recommend walmart fish.

450/500 of the eggs

THEY LAY 500 EGGS?!?!

holy moly that would be a lot of fish.

do you think mine might breed in the 55gallon tank? (see tank specs in link below)

and i just saw the picture you posted. they're so tiny!! they almost look like little minnows haha. anyways, good luck with them!

well im no expert on breeding goldfish (bettas are my thing:)) but i think that the other fish would eat the eggs. i had three fish in the tank and while 2 were mating, my little moor was following them around eating the eggs like they were potato chips! i took him out as soon as i saw that. i think they also mate in increased temperatures (but i could be mistaken) they are in my window in the alabama heat (no ac either) so im guessing that triggered them:confused: maybe someone with more experience can help out there? heres a pic from a while ago-the ladning is now filled to the brink with more fish plus fry tanks...

yeah most fish lay tons of eggs. i wouldnt suggest it if you dont have a pond or a 395385302 tanks ready to house them...
