Some of you may have read my previous treads about having worries about my 37 gallon tank after i cut the center support. Well i talked myself into a new 55 gallon tank

here is it

402.00 bucks for the stand, tank, hood and glass tops...

I know it is not decorated real good but i just used what i had from my 37 gallon..

I think it looks much better then my old tank

Oh and will my emperor 400 be enough for this 55 gallon or will i need to add in my emperor 280 as well?

Oooooh! It's beautiful! :) It does look much better than your 37... Congratulations! I'm curious what's going in it, too. :)

I am going to get the backround soon. I forget to get one at the pet store and after all the setting the new one up and taking the old one down i was just not up for another drive there.

Right now i have 2 silver dollar fish, 5 neon tetras. I am open to suggestions on what else you might think would go good.. My wife REALLY wants a jellybean Perrot fish but i don't know how well they would get along.. any ideas?

Oh and my wife wants to make the 37 gallon a Angel fish tank.. she wants to know how many she could get in there?

The tank looks wonderful!!

What about some swordtails, and maybe some cories for the bottom?

You know what I used for a background for my tank? 2 pieces of black poster board from CVS... I think it cost $2, and *knock wood* I've had the same background on there for almost 4 years now...

Angelfish only in a 37gallon... I'd venture to guess you could keep 6 angels in there... though not 100% sure on that.

I haven't kept angelfish yet to be honest but from what I have about their semi-aggressive and territorial behaviour I wouldn't put more than 4 in there. You have height which is good for angels but they do also need swimming room and that tank doesn't have a lot (left to right, front to back).

That's a gorgeous tank, Jeffd1979! Once you have it completely decorated and stocked, it's going to be a wonderful accent to the room - with that matching pine canopy, it looks much nicer and more finished than your old tank.
