Now that I added my halide lights my temperature is floating around 81°. I think I can go to 82° and still be okay but would like some comments from people that have experience vs. my inner feeling. :p

With temperature, consistency is the key. If your tank always stays at 81-82, that would be fine. With my halides on, my temp stays around 81 all the time, but that is with two fans pulling fresh air into the canopy. Are you running fans now, or are you getting 81 without fans?

No fans and a homemade canopy that supports both ends of the light but nothing in the middle. In other words, the tank is open on both long ends. I am thinking about putting a fan underneath in the wet-dry but its pretty tight down there so I am not sure the fan would do any good.
