So I'm planning out my next "big thing" which will have over a 1000 gallons of water an hour flowing thru the system thru a 1.5" conduit. I'm considering putting a 1.5" check valve into the return system after the pump and after the ball valve.
Has anyone tried this, or know if this is a bad idea or not?
Thanks!
Check valves are often considered to be a bad idea because they can clog and cause you major problems. This is if you're talking about the type of check valves sold at Home Depot, etc. - the types that you can't disassemble for servicing.
Someone makes check valves that you can take apart and clean, but I can't remember who that is. If it comes to me, I'll let you know. Or, maybe someone else knows more and will post info here?

Good question - I was thiniking about adding one to my system in case of power failure and for some reason the holes in my return get clogged not stopping the siphon function from my tank to my sump.
