Hey,
Im just starting up a 60 gallon tank and have decided I wanted cichlids. I have been looking on the web and books and I really like severums and firemouths. I need some ideas though on compatible fish that would work with these fish. Any ideas are great.
Thanks.

severums will get along with firemouths u could put a juripari in their and my buddy has a Jd with his firemouth but I'm nott sure if a Jd will get along with a severum though good luck
my firemouth beat up on my jurupari pretty bad for a long time. he finally has lef thim alone.
in my other tank my green severum beat up my other jurupari so bad i bought a whole new tank to move the jurupari into.
in a tank that big id go with just a pair of nice, larger fish. mabye some texas cichlids, blue acaras, severums, eartheaters, mabye a single JD, a couple few firemouths. throw in a few odd ball bottom fish and your good to go.

I'd watch the JD with the sevrums. I've also ket sevrums with silver dollars.

ok thanks for the advice. What would be some more bigger fish that i coule go with. That sounds like a pretty good idea.
How does this sound then
2 severums
2 firemouths
1 texas cichlid
1 pleco
Would this work out??
The texas is a no go. He can get up to 14". Even with enough room their still quite agressive.

I agree. The Texas would be worse than the JD! It gets bigger and, IMO, more agressive.
