I just watched my RCC molt!

It was really cool. I saw he had an unusual white area on his back this morning. I was keeping an eye on him as I lost his companion not long ago. Then I saw him kind of settle under a silk plant and start to fidget--his legs and even his eyes. His shell crack then became large enough to see and he just fidgeted and wiggled his way out. He is still sitting under that silk plant with his "ghost" right below him. Should I remove what he shed or does he need to eat it for nutrients?

I always leave mine in the tank for a couple days to make sure he doesnt want to eat it....

Seaman is right. You should let the little beastie eat his exoskeliton for the minerals and such.
