does anyone have any suggestions for cichlids in a 30g

I would like to also keep other fish in here too...so I want well mannered ones

also, if you could suggest some dwarfs

I am a fan of rams, if I went with rams how many would be appropriate for a 30g?

thanks

if you make suggestions, please include common names as well

You could have 2 pairs of rams in a 30 gallon. Rams need exceptional water quality so be sure you want to make that commitment. Apistos would also work...more dwarves that need exceptional water quality. Keyholes and Bolivian rams are hardier and also peaceful.

this tank is in my little brother's room, it is "his" tank...but he doesn't know anything about fish...I suppose rams woudln't be a good starter fish for him...considering their water conditions

hmmm...I could always get a pair of midsizers in there

what about a single oscar in here?

try anomalochromis thomasi;
african butterfly cichlid -- they are very peaceful, i have 3 in a 30g,
and im getting 2 more today....

they have small territorial disputes, but this amounts to a small face-off and a bit of a shake!!

they are easy to feed, seem hardy, and have beautiful irridescent colouring,....

ive also read the pseudocrenilabrus multi-colour can be kept in groups in a 30g...
(egyptian mouth-brooder.. btw..)

it depend on your water quality from the tap -- these all need soft acidic...
