My pair of convicts' first try at breeding turned out to be unsuccessful as expected. The eggs all fungused. The male ate all the fungused eggs. There were no hard feelings between the male and female which is good. I did a 50% water change and the pair seem to be building a nest again, ready to give it another try. Maybe this time they will be successful.

I'm not sure about their age. They are still young though as they are not fully grown. The male is about 3.5 in. and the female is about 2 in. I've had the male for about 8 months and the female for a few weeks.

I wouldn't worry too much. My Copora's have been breeding for over a year now right aroud every 6-7 weeks. I got frustrated after quite a few times because they kept eating the eggs or as in your case they didn't furtilize them. The last two times and as of right now they have been doing great. I got fry from the last two and it looks like there will be some more on the way. I came real close to giving up on them but I hung in there and it's paying off now. Good Luck

my brothers convicts did that when they firsdt got together, but ever since they have had lots of babies on a very consistent time schedule.
