Best way to clean sand bed??

Hi all,

I was wondering what ways you guys use to clean your sand bed?? I have been sieving mine, but it doesn't work to well for me....it seems that the waste on the bottom is to heavy to go all the way up the tube.
Is there even another way to clean it???

Also what do you use to clean the outside glass of the tank?? I have tried plain water, windex, other window chems, but regular water seems to work the best.

water and newspaper works well for outside glass, donno bout the sand though im a newbie, good luck

Do you have a cleaning crew? Hermits, snails, stars? I never clean my sand bed. The cleaners will do it for you and they are fun to watch.

Ski be very carefull using household products like windex as they contain ammonia (SP?). I buy and use a product that my LFS sells called Brillianize. It is a cleaner and polisher all in one. You just spray it on wipe off and use a clean cloth to polish and man does it look great. There web site is www.brillianize.com and phone number (707) 751-0656.
