My Amazon sword grew too big to fit in my tank now (the leaves are 50cm tall and 5cm wide!) and I'll have to remove it (sell it). However, I think that will be a difficult task to do, because all Echinodoruses spread their roots everywhere and this plant was in my tank for over 2 years!
If I cut some roots here and there and leave it in the substrate, will that be a problem? I know they will eventually rot, but I have many plants in the tank and I guess that could be, like, beneficial? Or not? What do you say?
Thanks.

Just before water change, pull the whole thing out very slowly to minimize dust. Then lightly siphon the area during water change. This way you have a plant to sell/give away, and you've removed all the roots. It takes forever for them to rot.
