I have a bare bottom tank which I started last nite. Would like to put some LR in tomorrow and wanted to test ph and kh before I put the substrate in ( I have sand and aragonite). When I went to check the kh with my aquarium phareceuticals kit, I noticed that it says that it is for freshwater. I did it anyway and got a reading of 9. Is this right? If not, is there a way to "translate" these results to SW? Or do I need to get a SW kit? BTW, the ph was 8.4. I used RO water with Instant Ocean - salinity is 1.023. I want to put the aragonite in, but am afraid (newbie) that the kh might go too high. Thanks
