i have a jack dempsey in 55 gallon tank with a convict and 2 fire mouths. the dempsey in yellow with black stripes and red along his dorsal fin. i have had him for a week and he still hasn't got his black color. i read that they stay that yellow color under lighting conditions. Do you keep your light on for certain hours ( e.g. 9:00 am to 8:00 pm) or do you just turn it on the watch the fish. the water quality in the tank is fine
