I have 4 spotted cories, well this morning i wake up and one of them looks like he has been dipped in sut...he is almost completely black....some of his spots close to his underside are still visible...the first one is a picture of him before and tonite ill post one of him now...what could cause this???

Basically the color of his stripe that extends down below his dorsal fin is what his whole body looks like now....even the whiteish stripe between the black on his face and the black stripe below his dorsal fin.

According to CorydorasWorld's disease page (http://www.corydorasworld.com/disease.htm) (at the very bottom), unusual darkening of the skin might be caused by toxins in the water, or Ichthyosporidium.

I have had a few of mine (bronze cories) in the past do this (skin darkening), and I was never able to save them. :(

I hope your little guy will be alright, though.

Yeah, usually only one of mine would change colour at a time, while the others remained normal and healthy. My aquarium params were always normal as well.

Just keep an eye on him, and also check over the next few days to see if his under belly looks sunken in at all. The cories I had with darkening skin, would show signs of a sunken belly within a few days.
