My Brichardi Has A Tearing Pectoral fin Its only the one fin on the right if you are looking at him from the front. This my 33 gallon tank, only has another brichardi in it. could it be that he just tore it on rock when getting out from a cave. Well is there any thing I can do to heal it. He is swimming fine its just torn between the main stems. ( I don't know what they are My guess is membranes, the stems are fine it is just the finnage between them.)

Thanks a lot for the help and please hurry!!

I've heard good things about melafix helping with damaged fins. you might want to get some and att it to the tank. You could also quarantine him and add it to the Q tank. hth

Don't panic!
If it's just a minor tear, keep your tank very clean (it never hurts to do extra water changes if your fish has an injury) and if you have any aquarium salt you could add some to the water, it helps to prevent bacteria/fungus infecting the wound. MelaFix is a natural antibacterial, some say it helps, some say it doesn't do anything. Personally, I've used it and think it's great stuff (and I love the way it smells!)
Watch the fish closely for the next few days. If you do see any fungus or it looks like a bacterial infection has set in, you might have to move the fish to a hospital tank and administer antifungal/antibacterial meds (I recommend Kanacyn, it handles both).
Good luck.

Minor or major?

A minor tear would be like separating the fins on a bird feather, it can knit back together really fast in clean water.

I've even seen bacterial infections where a 1/4" was lost all across the edge of a fin regrow very rapidly in very clean water.

Melafix might help, but massive water changes will definately help.
