I've been lurking for a couple days looking up some stuff, and wanted to sy hi. This seems like a pretty informative site. I do have a question: My 5 gal bucket I used to use for water changes dissapeared, and i got a pickle bucket from my moms work. It's been rinsed out (no soap or anything like that). It still smells of pickles, is it ok to use? Thanks in advance.

Hello!

To pickle your fish? Hmm, interesting. I've never encountered such a question.

Anyone have any ideas?

Sarcasm aside, yes the bucket should be fine to use. Smells left behind do not necessarily mean that something will leach into your water, and given the circumstances of what the smell is coming from, I say you should be able to use it. ;)

Not a problem, salt, vinegar, a touch of vegetable oil maybe. I scrub tanks with salt, then vinegar all the time to disinfect and remove scum.

You can clean with Oxyclean if you think it slimy or dirty. But it should be fine, food safe plastics are good!

I have 2 of them. Just rinse them a couple of times and they are good to go.

And WELCOME! :)
